Rob Sims OL 6'4 310 Ohio St.
By: Robert Davis
Rob Sims has been a mainstay on the Buckeye offensive line since he took over as an injury replacement his sophomore season. Most of his experience is at tackle, but he has also played some guard for Ohio St.
Sims is a talented offensive line prospect. He brings a lot of versatility to the line, having played all over in college. For a guard, he is a very good pass blocker, and shows very good mobility. He can get out and block on the move. Sims also has the strength to lock on to a defender and move him off the ball.
Guard is where Sims projects best at, but has played tackle mostly. So he'll need to adjust and make sure to keep his pad level lower, playing against shorter but wider defensive tackles. He also struggles at times adjust to counter moves, so that hinders how he projects on the outside.
Sims has the look of a solid NFL lineman. He shld be a good guard, but has the physical skills to possibly play right tackle. Guards do not carry premium value, especially one that does not dominate in any one aspect. Sims could hear his name called in the third or fourth round.
