Anthony Fasano TE 6'4 259 Notre Dame Jr.
By: Robert Davis
The tight end position is not a glamour position, but Anthony Fasano has been as important as any tight end to his teams offense. As a freshman, Fasano caught 18 balls for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He upped all of those as a sophomore, totaling 27/367/4 for the season. Fasano was a Mackey finalist this year, given to the nation's top tight end. He caught 45 balls for 564 yards and two touchdowns.
Fasano is a very good all around tight end. He is a very good intermediate receiver. He can find a soft spot in the defense and if the ball is anywhere near him, he will catch it. He is also a very good blocker too. Fasano is strong, and will battle when blocking to open up things for his teammates.
There really isn't anything that truly stands out in Fasano's game. He is a solid receiver, but not a gamebreaker. He is a solid blocker, but does not dominate at the point. He also lacks standout athleticism and speed for the position.
Anthony Fasano will not be a major playmaker at the next level, but he will help his ball club. He does a lot of things well and will play hard for the entire game. He lacks the upside and game breaking ability of other tight ends in this years draft, but Fasano should be a solid NFL tight end.
